Company Name Origin
Our firm was founded based on the experience of our founder, Keiichi Ozawa, gained at an engineering company.
Our company name, “ArchiScience,” is a coined word that blends “Architecture (Archi)” and “Science.”
We do not view architecture as a purely creative act. We believe that designing and engineering based on scientific evidence, such as physics, environmental engineering, materials science, and ergonomics, is the path to creating buildings and facilities with essential, lasting value.
We put the word “Science” in our name to express our commitment to always pursuing optimal solutions through data, verification, and logic, rather than relying only on intuition and experience. For example, we emphasize applying engineering and scientific analysis to all decisions that support architecture, including numerical analysis of solar radiation and ventilation, structural safety evaluations, and environmental performance simulations.
At the same time, “Archi” represents an architectural perspective that is attentive to society and people’s lives.. By balancing scientific rationality with the cultural and creative nature of architecture, we aim to design buildings that are beautiful, functional, and retain to deliver lasting value over time.
We interpret architecture through science, solve challenges through science, and shape the future through science. This philosophy is embodied in our name, “ArchiScience.”
Science, architecture, and the engineering that makes them possible.
